Lodging
Georgia offers the normal
strip motels and nice hotels, but there are
plenty of alternatives, particularly in towns
and cities that escaped the destruction of the
Civil War. Many of these locations have
preserved their past and offer antebellum homes
that are today charming inns and bed and
breakfasts. Accommodation prices vary
greatly, but they are less expensive in the
smaller towns, even though the lodging might
rival that found in larger or more well known
towns (such as Savannah). Travel
throughout the state and you will also find
lakefront cottages, Victorian mansions, seaside
hotels and old farmhouses. In short,
Georgia offers something for everyone.
