Real estate in Macon is quite reasonable, with prices starting under $75,000 for 2 bedroom homes.   About 80 miles from Atlanta, Macon isn't close enough to be called a bedroom community, but if you want a nice, quiet southern town not too far from all that a major city offers, then Macon may be the place.  Condos and town homes, as well as rental homes, are available here as well.
