Scarlett O'Hara, Rhett Butler and Ashley Wilkes.  Ty Cobb and Hershel Walker.  Erskine Caldwell and Margaret Mitchell.  Peachtree Lane, Tobacco Road and Sherman's March to the Sea.  All of these conjure up images of this southern state, parts of which still seem caught in its colorful past, even as modern Atlanta booms and bustles.    Georgia's geography is as diverse as its people, from the Blue Ridge Mountains in the north to the Intracoastal Waterway along the southeastern Atlantic Coast.  Many folks are born here and die here, content to call Georgia home their entire lives.  There really is a Georgia state of mind.
